How to get your White Card (NSW) Online
An Illustrated Guide:
Despite what you may have heard, it is possible to get a White Card online if you live and work in New South Wales, AND for only $38.50! We show you exactly how, on this page. The Mandatory White Card qualification, which is required in order to enter onto a construction site anywhere in Australia, is now accepted across all State and Territory boundaries.
WorkCover NSW do not allow NSW White Card providers to offer the course online, however, when you get your White Card through us, you will be issued a card from either Workplace Health and Safety QLD or Worksafe WA (depending on which course you choose). The QLD and WA White Card is accepted by WorkCover NSW and must also be accepted by worksites in NSW. To date we’ve delivered over 70,000 White Cards to NSW residents! Do course 24/7 – Start Now!
Doing the course online is convenient, economical and is simple and easy to use. You won’t need to travel to a classroom somewhere and waste a whole day… Instead you can complete the course content online, which typically takes around 6 hours. Then you’ll need to complete the assessments and send us the required documentation, so we can verify your identification and competency. Once everything is finalised, we’ll send your White Card in the mail. You can even select our “Express Delivery” option, and we’ll send your White Card by Express Post.
Green Card Vs White Card
Prior to the White Card being launched nationally in 2009, in NSW this qualification was referred to as the “Green Card”. The Green Card was the old card that is no longer available and was only valid for NSW. It was replaced with the national White Card which is valid Australia wide. So if you have been asked to get a Green Card for construction then you are in the right place.
Here are the steps to get your online White Card (NSW).
Step 1: Click the Start Course button below:
Accept the Terms & Conditions, and click on the Start Course Now button at the bottom of the T&C’s page, as per the picture on the right.
Step 2: Start doing the course online. Our course can be done on any type of computer, including PC or Mac, PLUS you can do it on a tablet, such as an iPad or Android Tablet. While the course is available on an iPhone or Smartphone, you may find the screen size too small and it may be difficult to complete the assessment. An iPad or Tablet would be fine, however a laptop or desktop computer with a full sized keyboard is recommended. The course displays in fast-streaming video with full professional voice-overs on each slide so whether you’re a visual or auditory learner, you’ll learn FAST with our course! You can stop the course at any point and our system will remember where you were up to when you next login. This makes it super-convenient to complete the course even in smaller chunks of time over several days to fit in with your schedule!
Step 3: You are required to complete various assessments as part of these courses; for the WA CPCCOHS1001A course, a short answer assessment, which involves typing a sentence or two into our online learning portal, a knowledge assessment, which is made up or 15 multi-choice scenario questions and a short, telephone based verbal assessment with one of our friendly qualified assessors which should take no more than 5 minutes (available during business hours 8am to 5pm AEST). For the new CPCCWHS1001 course, a series of knowledge assessments, which include up or 15 multi-choice scenario questions and a live video verbal assessment with one of our friendly qualified assessors via webcam, which should take no more than 20 minutes (available during business hours 8am to 5pm AEST).
Step 4: The final requirements, again mandated by the Government training regulator (ASQA), relate to proving to us your ID. Don’t worry, we provide everything you need right here. Here’s what you need to do:
- For the WA CPCCOHS1001A course, print off the Declaration Form and fill it out including the witness signature (this is someone who can be a family member or friend etc. who signs off that they observed you doing the assessment yourself.) For the new CPCCWHS1001 course, you don’t need an observer and you can also sign the declaration electronically! see here
- Get your Identity documentation and do a copy (Passport, Australian Driver License etc ) see here
- If you’re doing the new CPCCWHS1001 course and you don’t have Photo ID, you’ll need to take your ID documents to an authorised witness, they will stamp or sign the copy, certifying that it is a true and correct copy of the original. Examples of who can act as an authorised witness can be found using the following link: www.ag.gov.au
- If all your documentation is in order, we’ll process your White Card and send it out to you in the mail
- If you selected Express Delivery when you registered, we’ll send your Card by Express Post.
If there’s something not quite right with your documentation, we will need you to correct that so we’ll send you an email indicating what has to be sorted out.
Within a few days of sending us your forms, you’ll be the proud owner of a shiny new White Card!
