A construction accident has occurred at the Bladin Point construction site in Darwin, claiming the life of a 56 year old man.
The man was working in a confined space at the time.
NT WorkSafe is investigating the incident after issuing a prohibition notice stopping all insulation work within tanks on the site.
When work in a confined space is being conducted on construction sites, it’s crucial that a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) be developed which outlines associated safety, hazards and controls.
