The 2017 SHARC Report (Skin Health Australia Report Card) revealed that over 2 million outdoor workers are not provided with any sun protection by their employers despite 45 per cent having to work outdoors sometimes or all the time.
In other words, 8 million adult Australians aren’t being properly protected, despite spending working hours in the sun.
Of the workers surveyed, 57 per cent said their employers didn’t supply sunscreen and 66 per cent of employers did not supply protective clothing. More than eighty per cent didn’t provide sunglasses.
