Three workplace incidents in one weekend have led to 2 deaths and one critical injury.
- A man in his sixties suffered critical head injuries after falling four metres at a site in Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula.
- In another incident a man was killed when his quad bike overturned at an East Gippsland property.
- In a third incident a man in his early fifties was crushed by a load of steel that fell from a forklift at a scrap metal yard in South Gippsland.
WorkSafe’s Executive Director of Health and Safety reminded us in light of these incidents that safety should always be a priority.
It is tragic that these 3 men didn’t make it home, there should have been appropriate systems in place to ensure risks were reduced or eliminated, Ms Williams said.
