Worker Injured on Dam Construction Site Airlifted to Hospital

A 33 year old worker was recently airlifted to hospital after an accident at the Boondooma Dam spillway repairs construction site.

The man was pushed by a 7 tonne air compressor onto a steel reinforcement structure.

The structure rolled over the man and caused injuries to his lower limbs.

The worker was treated by a LifeFlight critical care doctor and then Queensland Ambulance service.

He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A second man, who probably witnessed the accident was taken to hospital for treatment of shock.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland are conducting inquiries into the incident.
