A large number of young people enter the workforce for the first time each year and 2019 is no different. Although we’re well into the new year, there may still be young workers who need support and advice facing workplace challenges.
In this regard SafeWork has launched a new resource to provide free help and advice to young workers.
The SafeWork Young Workers eToolkit is designed to help the more than half a million young workers across NSW.
Most young workers don’t know their rights relating to workplace health and safety or relating to harassment or bullying.
The toolkit includes real life stories and advice for young workers including what to do if they are bullied, abused, injured or struggling with mental health issues at work.
SafeWork reminded businesses of the importance of training and adequate supervision for workers throughout the year. This includes White Card training for workers in the construction industry.
