Sydney Worker Impaled on Construction Site

screen_shot_2016-09-26_at_12-41-29_pmA young man on a construction site in Sydney’s north was rushed to hospital after having his leg impaled by a piece of steel due to a fall.

The 24 year old man was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital after a steel rod pierced his left thigh at a work site in Pymble.

Co-workers and paramedics helped the injured worker before he was airlifted to hospital.

This incident highlights the risks associated with work on a high risk work site, such as building projects and was the second major construction accident to occur in the area in 2 days. Just the day before a crane collapsed at another work site in Sydney.
