Stressed Employees Costing Employers Billions

Stress is not only costing employees but companies as well, according to the latest statistics.

Billions of dollars are apparently being lost  due to unaddressed stress in the workplace.

Employees who are stressed about their finances, job or health are unable to focus at work which causes them under-perform.

According to a USA based insurance company Colonial Life, more than 1 in 5 employees spend at least 5 hours of work each week thinking about stressors – such as their financial woes, job or health.

Half of the respondents in the survey lost at least an hour a week stressing about their concerns.

In other words companies who address the issues / stressors affecting their employees are actually boosting their company’s productivity and bottom-line.
