Queenslanders Urged to Prioritise Electrical Safety

People in Queensland were recently reminded by Ergon Energy to be cautious when working in their yards due to the risks of contact with underground or overhead electrical cables around properties.

Whether pruning trees or cutting bushes, painting roofs or drilling holes for fencing etc, there is the risk that you may come into contact with a live electrical wire. Ergon asked people to be aware of underground and overhead power, in their yard and on the footpath.

Ergon encouraged people to engage the services of a certified cable locator to identify all underground services within their yard.
