Queensland Dozer Incident on New Year’s Eve

A 49 year old man has been killed in an incident at the Saraji open cut coal mine near Moranbah on New Year’s Eve.

The incident is being investigated by the Queensland Mines Inspectorate.

The worker died when the dozer he was operating rolled from an elevated position.

While details of the incident are yet to be discovered, an investigation is underway.

The company involved has also launched an internal investigation.

Safe Work Australia figures show that in 2017, there were 190 Australian workers killed on the job.
