Queensland Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace is among those demanding stricter import controls on asbestos after a discovery of the harmful substance was made on a Brisbane construction site.

Recently CFMEU testing revealed asbestos on one of the biggest construction sites in the state despite asbestos imports being banned since 2003.

As Ms Grace stated, it’s obvious more needs to be done to keep asbestos off construction sites in Brisbane and around Australia and she called on the federal government to act.
