A man in his 40s has been injured by a falling tree branch at a workplace in South East Queensland.

The man was flown to hospital, after being struck by the branch, for treatment of chest and shoulder injuries.

The incident happened at a work site 14km west of Noosa.

The injured man was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter where he arrived in a stable condition.

This incident is a reminder to beware of the risks of falling objects on the job site, particularly in construction.
