A construction worker has been killed in an accident on a site in Perth’s western suburbs.
The man fell into a trench filled with water about 3 metres deep and became trapped. Co-workers attempted to rescue the man at the Harvey Street site in Mosman Park.
Despite passing him a hose pipe to try and help him breath, the man could not be saved.
It took emergency crews almost 8 hours to retrieve the man’s body with specialised equipment.
Witnesses say they heard the man scream that his leg was stuck.
An investigation has been launched by Police and WorkSafe.
