The latest asbestos progress report has been released by The Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency, who report on the nation’s efforts towards an asbestos-free Australia.
The report was the second annual progress report and it details activities and data that state, territory and Australian Government entities report under the National Strategic Plan for Asbestos Management and Awareness.
The latest report shows an improvement in the work done to prevent asbestos related diseases in the nation.
Improved coordination and reporting by all levels of government and an increase in the amount of asbestos waste disposed of were reflected in the report.
