Key Report Released Showing Workplace Injuries, Diseases and Fatalities

Safe Work Australia has released the Key Work Health and Safety Statistics Australia 2018 report, providing a summary of statistics on national work-related injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

The report was released by Safe Work’s Chain Diane-Smith-Gander recently using data from jurisdictions, the National Coronial Information Service and the media.

She encouraged Australians to use the trends, comparisons and the industry breakdowns within this publication to help reduce incidents.

She also urged people who read the publication to keep in mind that each number represents lives changed.

While there has been a 47 per cent decrease in the national workplace fatality rate since 2007, there are still too many fatalities because even one is one too many.
