Incentives to Boost Apprenticeships in WA

There are incentives aimed at attracting young people to WA’s largest industry – construction.

The Construction Training Fund (CTF) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1990 to support the training of people in the building and construction industry to improve the quality of training in the industry and increase the number of skilled workers in the industry.

The CTF is 100 per cent industry funded through the collection of the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (BCITF) Levy which is paid by all construction projects in the state where the total value of construction is estimated to be more than $20,000.

The CTF has supported the training and employment of more than 48,000 apprentices and trainees and assisted more than 340,000 industry workers upgrade their skills.
