Falling Debris Crushes Construction Worker on Brooklyn Site

A father of 4 from Newark in New York was recently killed when falling debris crushed him at a building site in Brooklyn, just one day before the American holiday of Thanksgiving.

The heartbroken family of the man have called for a full investigation into the death.

The son of the man pulled his father from under a metal wall that fell on him during high winds. He says conditions were bad and nobody should have been on the roof working that day.

On the same day crane operators had refused to operate cranes because of the high winds.

It is being investigated whether or not crane operators had warned supervisors that it was too dangerous to work. This appears to be a case of continuing to work to meet deadlines, despite the obvious safety risks due to bad weather – we see this all too often on construction sites.
