Employers Urged to Protect Workers Against Noise

“Be proactive about noise control” is the message from WorkSafe New Zealand to workers and businesses.

It’s crucial for businesses to identify noise hazards and address them by having a noise control system in place at work.

WorkSafe New Zealand detailed the case of an engineering company who took a proactive approach to noise control.

The company modified their machinery to reduce noise and added large pads under machines to further reduce noise while minimising vibrations. The company also introduced sound-reducing boxes which dropped noise levels by up to 60 per cent.
