The safety of construction workers is once again in the spotlight and employers are being urged not to be worker’s safety an after thought.
SafeWork Australia says 211 construction workers died from work-related injuries in the five years from 2007–08 to 2011–12.
Pre-planning is crucial to worker safety, as is adequate training (including White Card general construction safety training).
Research has shown a significant positive relationship between the number of hazards addressed before construction and the implementation of upper level control measures.
