A 25 year old construction worker has been charged by police after an alleged assault at Bulli during which he was involved in a parking dispute with an elderly man.
The elderly man is fighting for his life in hospital.
The construction worker from Campbelltown was arrested and charged with reckless grievious bodily harm. He was then granted conditional bail to appear in the local court at a later date.
The construction worker allegedly struck the elderly man in the neck, causing him to fall and crack his head on the ground before suffering a stroke.
The man remained in intensive care in a critical condition throughout the night.
Police believed the altercation arose when the construction worker moved the resident’s garbage bins to park his vehicle.
The worker and sub-contracting company were soon after dismissed from the job.
