A construction worker is lucky to be alive after surviving a horrendous accident on a worksite in Central India.
The 21 year old man was at work when he plummeted into a well and was impaled by a long iron rod through his skull.
The rod passed from the right temporal region of the the brain through the left frontal region, narrowly missing the main venous sinus to the brain, doctors said.
The young worker was rushed to hospital where he underwent a 90 minute surgery by a team of neurosurgeons who managed to save his life.
The man is reportedly doing well after the surgery.
