The northern suburbs of Sydney are the city’s residential construction hot-spot with a total of 121 cranes dotted around the area.
Last month the number of cranes increased by 27.
Matthew Harris, managing director of RLB NSW said the northern part of the state was experiencing heavy residential construction.
RLB’s ‘crane index’ survey shows a drop in residential activity across the city but overall levels are still high.
It also says more cranes are coming up on civil construction sites such as schools and transport projects.
RLB’s survey shows that 40 per cent of the 321 cranes across the city are extending from North Sydney to the northern beaches and north-west suburbs.
