Concrete Slab Plummets on Construction Site

Source: Pixabay.com

A concrete slab weighing an estimated 2 tonnes broke off the build and plummeted on a construction site in Perth near Northbridge.

Construction workers on site narrowly escaped being hit by the falling slab, with the incident stopping work on the site for hours.

The incident happened around 8am on a Wednesday morning in February with workers recognising how lucky it was that no one was injured or killed in the incident.

Workers reported hearing a loud thud, so loud it could be heard over the construction machinery.

A group of tradies said they were standing there when the slab fell and just waited for the rest of the floor to fall.

The incident will be investigated by WorkSafe. Read more at : https://thewest.com.au/news/wa/concrete-slab-comes-down-at-perth-construction-site-ng-b88738034z
