According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the number of people employed in the construction sector in Australia in November was 1.165 million – this is 101,200 more than compared with the same time last year.
The increase in construction workers across each state is as follows,
- New South Wales – 39,400 workers (11.6 per cent of the total workforce)
- Victoria – 34,500 workers (13.5 per cent)
- Western Australia – 15,900 workers (12.8 per cent)
- Queensland – 10,400 workers (4.6 per cent)
The greatest improvements were in the civil and heavy industry construction with employment figures rising by 44 per cent. Read more at https://sourceable.net/#
