Asbestos Discovery Made Near Queensland Dam

Asbestos material was recently discovered near Leslie Harrison Dam, raising concerns that drinking water may be contaminated, however authorities have down played the issue.

Samples taken last week tested positive for asbestos after Segwater water management company were informed by Redland City Council of the issue.

Segwater implemented measures to keep asbestos from running into Tigalpa Reservoir, with a spokesman saying there wouldn’t be any risk to locals.
