Another Roof Fall Injures Man in Sydney

A worker in his twenties has been injured after falling through a roof at a building site in Sydney’s south-west.

The man fell at a site in Oran Park and was transported to hospital by ambulance paramedics.

The incident is being investigated by SafeWork NSW.

Falls from height remain the biggest concern on construction sites with statistics from Safe Work Australia showing that between 2007 and 2016, falls from a height were the main cause of fatalities in both the building construction and construction services industry sub-divisions.

Nationally, across the whole construction industry, falls from a height caused 96 fatalities (or 27 per cent) over a decade to 2016.
