3D Concrete Printing Could Revolutionise Building Design

3D Concrete printing has been hailed as the latest innovation in construction which some predict could revolutionise the industry.

One of the reasons people are excited about the prospects of 3D Concrete building homes is the cost benefits. Construction currently involves casting concrete into a mould (known as formwork) but 3D concrete printing could do away with this need and associated costs which are estimated as around 60% of the total cost of concrete construction.

Although 3D printed concrete homes, which can be built in 24 hours are popular, bridges, buildings and towers may soon be built in this way.

The video below shows the first 3D concrete printed home to be built in a single location, during an icy Russian winter.
